Ferries: Piraeus, Rafina, official operators
This is an overview of hubs and company names. It is not a timetable. Times: check operator. Prices: check operator. Dated 2 September 2026.
What Visit Greece actually says
The national tourism site: Aegean, Saronic and Cretan lines primarily depart from Piraeus and Rafina. The Ionian Islands are served from Patras, Kyllini, Igoumenitsa and Astakos — a different geography. Do not plan Corfu as if it were a Cyclades hop from Piraeus.

Piraeus
The big one. Most first-time island itineraries (Saronic, many Cyclades, Crete, some northeast Aegean) are signed here. Gates are spread out; arrive early and read the gate on your ticket.

From ATH: Metro Line 3 or OASA X96 — see airport to city. From central Athens: metro lines 1 and 3 to the Piraeus / Dimotiko Theatro end. Confirm on STASY.
Rafina
East Attica. Often used for Cyclades corridors that include Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and related islands. Closer to ATH by road than Piraeus, which is why some air-to-island connections use it — still not an excuse to cut the buffer to zero.
KTEL Attikis is the usual public bus mention toward Rafina; confirm on ktelattikis.gr. I am not inventing a bus interval.
Operators named here (official sites only)
- Blue Star Ferries — bluestarferries.com (Attica Group). Conventional ferries are the workhorses when the sea is ugly.
- Seajets — seajets.com. High-speed fleet; operator messaging includes Rafina and Cyclades. Weather and cancellations are real; read the ticket conditions.
- Fast Ferries — fastferries.com.gr. Operator lists Rafina–Cyclades and Piraeus–Cyclades among routes. Their own site publishes seasonal schedule periods — use that, not a screenshot from 2024.
Other reputable operators exist (Hellenic Seaways / Superfast / ANEK under Attica Group, Golden Star, etc.). If they are not on your ticket, do not assume they sail your island today.
