Athens airport (ATH) to the city
Two public options most people actually use: Metro Line 3, and the X95 express bus to Syntagma. Taxis exist; I am not quoting unofficial taxi apps.

Metro Line 3 (Blue Line)
Athens International Airport states that Metro Line 3 connects the airport with Athens city centre and Piraeus (Dimotiko Theatro). More information: stasy.gr.
AIA also states that airport → Piraeus on Line 3 has an estimated travel time of 60 minutes. That is an airport figure, not a guarantee in disruption.
I am not publishing a euro fare for the metro here unless it is sitting on the OASA/STASY/AIA page I can cite in this build. Airport tickets are a special product. Check oasa.gr, stasy.gr and ticket machines in the terminal.
The metro does not replace a 24-hour bus. If you land in the small hours, look at X95.
X95 Airport Express bus (OASA)

- X95 — Airport ↔ Syntagma Square (metro lines 2 and 3).
- X96 — Airport ↔ Port of Piraeus (coastal Poseidonos; metro line 1).
- X93 — Airport ↔ intercity bus stations of Kifissos & Liosion.
- X97 — Airport ↔ Elliniko area (night routing note on the OASA page).
OASA’s own estimated durations (traffic-dependent): X93 ~65 minutes, X95 ~60 minutes, X96 ~90 minutes, X97 ~45 minutes.
OASA states a full fare product of €5.50 for a single Airport Express bus ride, with contactless bank card / NFC payment at the blue validator (validate once when boarding). Reduced products and any later tariff change: check OASA, not this paragraph.

Which one, practically
- Daytime, light bags, going to Syntagma / Monastiraki / a metro hotel: Line 3 is usually the calmer choice — confirm first/last train.
- After metro hours, or with large luggage: X95 to Syntagma.
- Straight to a ship: X96 or Line 3 toward Piraeus — still leave a buffer; Piraeus is a big port, not a single door.
- Straight to a KTEL coach: X93, then read the terminal signs. Athens has more than one long-distance yard.
